Bridget, Maya, and myself walked in solidarity at the Temecula Duck Pond with many dozens of concerned fellow citizens, to raise awareness of the awful conditions at ICE and CBP detention facilities. The drive to hold more and more people, pending deportation proceedings, despite many committing no crime and others only a misdemeanor, has led to overcrowding and a lack of resources. This has directly caused the deaths of several detainees, with others routinely sleeping on cold concrete, drinking from toilets, and being denied basic medical and hygienic supplies. This kind of behavior from a democratic country is unacceptable.
